Updating Old/Broken Profiles

with 2 comments

HippoRemote Pro 3.0 breaks compatibility with some profiles from earlier versions. The simplest way to get up to date is to go into the in-app settings and tap on Restore Default Profiles. This wipes out all the profiles on your iPhone and replaces them with updated versions.

If this is a bit too severe for you, you can update profiles individually from our online repository. The repository is accessible from inside the app by tapping the “+” button on the profiles screen and choosing the Browse Online option.

  1. This is REALLY important!!! Last time I did a Mass Update (or reset) of default profiles, I lost all the icons for the app profiles. So I decided to update mine one by one.

But I DID NOT realise about the renaming, and because I was using the favourites screen, I didn’t realise I was still using the old profiles. I was actually a little miffed to see silly numbers for icons, and wondered again where macros were for apps.

But once I had read the blog… WOW!!!! This is a WONDERFUL update… your comment on usability and aesthetics is true. Fabulous.

Dropbox works like a charm (so now I can use my wife’s iphone if I can’t find mine) [not sure if Global Macros sync though]. The editor looks neat, but I will need time to look at it (would love to have an arrow pad for Movist).

    Well done! Thanks!
